The Lycian Way stretches over 500 km along Turkey's Mediterranean coast, from Fethiye to Antalya, passing through 30 distinct stages. Planning the right itinerary depends on your available time, fitness level, and preferred style of travel.
The full route takes 25–30 days for fit hikers. Most people walk selected sections: 7 days covers the dramatic western stages around Fethiye; 14 days takes you past Kaş towards Kekova; the full route takes experienced hikers around 25 days.
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are ideal. Summer temperatures exceed 40°C on exposed limestone. Winter hiking is possible but some pensions close.
Beginner: about 5–6 hours of walking a day, usually one stage. Moderate: 7–8 hours, short stages are combined. Experienced: long days up to ~10 hours, covering more ground.
