The official marking system. Painted on rocks, trees and walls throughout the route. Quality varies — some sections are excellently marked, others require careful attention.

Use both. GPS tells you where you are; waymarks confirm you are on the correct path. When in doubt, stop and check — do not guess.

The approaches to Cape Gelidonya, the Phellos plateau, and some coastal headlands have faint or confusing waymarks. Download the GPX for these stages especially.
