Everything you need to know before you walk
The final stage of the Lycian Way is bittersweet — the knowledge that it ends gives every kilometre a particular weight. The path passes through Doyran village and the ruins of Neapolis before descending through increasingly suburban landscape toward Aşağı Karaman on the outskirts of Antalya.
The ruins of Neapolis are modest but meaningful — standing among ancient stones within sight of a modern city creates an odd but fitting duality for the end of a route that has traced 500km of ancient Lycia.
Antalya's old city (Kaleiçi) is the reward: a Roman harbour, Ottoman mansions, excellent restaurants, and the Antalya Archaeological Museum — one of the finest collections of Lycian and classical art in the world. Spend at least two nights here.
