Everything you need to know before you walk
This long inland stage connects the ancient world of Xanthos with the rural villages of central Lycia. The walking passes through Çavdır and Çayköy — proper Turkish agricultural villages where hikers are still a novelty and hospitality is genuine.
The terrain is varied: vineyard tracks, pine forest, rural roads and open hillside. Navigation demands full attention through the middle section. This is not a stage for walkers who like to put their head down and march — the waymarks require constant checking.
Üzümlü is a larger village with a weekly market, a mosque, teahouses and several places to stay. The local wine (üzüm means grape) is worth trying if you can find it.
