Stage Guide

Everything you need to know before you walk

A pleasant forested stage descending from Elmayani toward Çitdibi, winding through oak and pine woodland. This is one of the quieter stages of the route — fewer dramatic views but a genuine sense of moving through ancient landscape.

The forest has a different character here to the pine stands of the south coast — more mixed, more verdant, with mossy rocks and small streams in spring. Birdlife is rich.

Çitdibi is a small village on the edge of the forest — simple accommodation and a genuine sense of arrival at somewhere off the usual tourist map.

Key advice: This stage offers a welcome contrast after the drama of the canyon and mountain sections. Take your time in the forest rather than rushing through.
