Stage 27 climbs from Göynük through aromatic pine forest toward the high meadows of Elmayani Yayla. The gradient is consistent but not brutal — a steady climb through shaded forest with occasional clearings and mountain views.
The yayla (high summer pasture) at the top is beautiful in late spring and early summer — wildflowers everywhere, cool air, and the occasional shepherd still using the traditional stone huts. By August it can be dry and exposed.
Key advice: Water sources become more reliable as you gain altitude on this stage. The yayla has basic accommodation — confirm in advance. The sense of remoteness increases significantly from here.
