Everything you need to know before you walk
The highlight of Stage 11 is the ruined city of Phellos, perched dramatically on a high plateau with views in every direction. The site is rarely visited — you may have it entirely to yourself. Rock-cut tombs, sarcophagi and carved reliefs emerge from the scrub in no particular order. Allow at least an hour to explore.
The descent from Phellos toward Çukurbağ is long and steep, passing through the village of Hacıoğlan. The trail eventually reaches the ridge above Kaş, with the town visible below and the Greek island of Kastellorizo visible across the water on clear days.
Çukurbağ is a village on the outskirts of Kaş — a comfortable stopping point before the descent into town.
