Everything you need to know before you walk
The lighthouse at Cape Gelidonya is one of the defining images of the Lycian Way — a white tower perched above crashing waves with a 360-degree panorama of coastline and islands. The path to reach it is dramatic: traversing rocky headlands above vertiginous drops to the sea.
The cape itself marks an important point: south of here the Aegean gives way to the eastern Mediterranean. Ancient sailors feared this headland — numerous wrecks have been found offshore, including one of the oldest shipwrecks ever excavated.
The descent to Adrasan is through fragrant pine forest, arriving at a long sandy beach that is exceptional out of peak season.
