Two routes descend from the high ground toward Göynük: Route 25A via the village of Gedelme, and Route 25B following the Göynük river valley past a well-preserved Roman bridge. The bridge, still standing after 2,000 years, is a remarkable sight.
The Göynük plateau is fertile and farmed — a contrast to the harsh limestone of the higher stages. The walking is gentler here, through orchards and past small farms.
